Final Destination 5 is an upcoming 2011 3D supernatural horror film written by Eric Heisserer and directed by Steven Quale. Final Destination 5 is the fifth installment to the Final Destination film franchise, which will star Nicholas D'Agosto, Emma Bell, Miles Fisher, Arlen Escarpeta, David Koechner and Tony Todd. Todd is the only returning cast member of the series. It is scheduled to be released on August 12, 2011 in Real D 3D.

Casting

In August 2010, actor and musician Miles Fisher was the first to be cast in Final Destination 5. Fisher's rep confirmed "Miles has gotten a real movie job. Fisher is the first actor cast in Final Destination 5, the Steven Quale-directed horror film that is casting up at New Line Cinema. These are the pics where a group of characters narrowly escape death in a gruesome catastrophe, and then most of them get bumped off one by one in grisly fashion." Three days after Fisher's participation in the film, Arlen Escarpeta, joined the film. Escarpeta later revealed, "I think what they're going to do really, really well this time around, they're going to go back - the story, the plot, a lot of stuff is really going to matter," explained Escarpeta. "I think the last movie it was just death. It was death, death, death, which is fine because that's what people want to see. But this time we're going to give them a little bit of everything - good story, great director - it's going to be good." In late August 2010 Nicholas D'Agosto, Ellen Wroe and Meghan Ory also joined the film.One day later, Tony Todd, from the first three installments, joined the cast.

On August 30, David Koechner and P.J. Byrne was also announced to have joined the cast. On September 2, Emma Bell was cast as the female lead; Molly Harper. Later, in mid-September both Jacqueline MacInnes Wood and Courtney B. Vance joined the main cast.

The plot was conceived from Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility. The screen play was adapted by Luis Alfaro, Craig Fernandez and Fina Torres to be a Latino version of the English novel.

A Latina spin on Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility," where two spoiled sisters who have been left penniless after their father's sudden death are forced to move in with their estranged aunt in East Los Angeles.

The movie's domestic release was January 28, 2011 in 256 theaters nationwide. It grossed $1.1 million and opened in 17th place at the box office.

Plot 

Sisters Nora (Camilla Belle) and Mary (Alexa Vega) from Beverly Hills learn how the other side lives after their father dies unexpectedly and they are taken in by their estranged aunt in East L.A.

Nora and Mary grew up in a sprawling mansion, so far removed from their Mexican roots that Mary refuses to even acknowledge their heritage. Then in a flash, their father is gone and they are both left penniless. Fortunately, the girls have a kind-hearted aunt Aurelia (Adriana Barraza) to fall back on. Aunt Aurelia only lives a short distance away, but Boyle Heights is so steeped in Latino culture that it may as well be on another planet. Unable to speak a word of Spanish and completely ignorant about their culture, Nora and Mary leave their comfortable world kicking and screaming. But the more time Nora and Mary spend getting to know their extended family, the more they begin to get a sense of what they've been missing by remaining locked in their ivory tower all these years. Before long Nora and Mary learn to regard their Mexican heritage with a sense of pride rather than shame and realize that all the money in the world can't buy the happiness of being surrounded and supported by family.

Scream 4 (stylized as SCRE4M) is a 2011 American slasher film and the fourth installment in the Scream film series. It was directed by Wes Craven and written by Kevin Williamson, writer of Scream and Scream 2. It stars an ensemble cast of David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Emma Roberts and Hayden Panettiere.

The plot involves Sidney Prescott returning to Woodsboro after ten years as part of her book tour. As soon as she arrives, Ghostface once again begins killing students from Woodsboro High, including her younger cousin's friends. Prescott, Gale Weathers Riley, and Dewey Riley once again team up to stop the murders, but not before having to learn from a new generation the "new rules" of surviving horror films.

Originally, the series was intended to be a trilogy, but after ten years, Bob Weinstein thought it was the right time for another film. Depending on the box office, Scream 4 is intended to be the first of a new trilogy. Williamson had to leave production early due to contractual obligations and Ehren Kruger (Scream 3) was brought in for re-writes. Campbell, Arquette and Cox are the only returning cast members from the previous films and were the first to sign on to the film in September 2009. Panettiere and Rory Culkin were the first of the new cast to sign on in May 2010. Ashley Greene was initially the choice of the lead character, Jill, but the role eventually went to Roberts. Filming took place in and around Ann Arbor, Michigan in June 2010 to September 2010, with re-shoots in early 2011.

Scream 4 was released on April 15, 2011 to mixed reviews. It took in $19.3 million its opening weekend in the United States and Canada, making it the second-lowest opening since the first film.

Plot

On the fifteenth anniversary of the Woodsboro massacre by Billy Loomis and Stu Macher, high school students Jenny Randall (Aimee Teegarden) and Marnie Cooper (Brittany Robertson) are attacked and brutally killed by a new Ghostface.

The following day, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) returns to Woodsboro to promote her new book. There she becomes a suspect in the murders after evidence is found in her rental car, and she must stay in the town until the murders are solved. Her cousin, Jill (Emma Roberts) who is dealing with the betrayal of her ex boyfriend, Trevor Sheldon (Nico Tortorella) and her two friends, Kirby Reed (Hayden Panettiere) and Olivia Morris (Marielle Jaffe) are also questioned about the murders after they received calls from the killer earlier that day. Dewey Riley (David Arquette) is now the sheriff of the town, and Gale Weathers Riley (Courteney Cox) is struggling from writer's block.

Finding the evidence in Sidney's rental car

Sidney stays with Jill and her aunt Kate Roberts (Mary McDonnell). Later that night, Olivia, who lives next door to Jill, is attacked and murdered by Ghostface as Jill and Kirby watch in horror. Since Sidney was also attacked and Jill gets her arm injured by the killer, Sidney goes to the hospital where her publicist, Rebecca Walters (Alison Brie), is also killed in the parking garage. Gale who is trying to solve the murders, enlists the help of two high school movie geeks, Charlie Walker (Rory Culkin) and Robbie Mercer (Erik Knudsen), who explain that the killer is using the rules of movie remakes to murder with. Charlie explains to Sidney and Gale that the killer will probably strike at a party being held that night.

Gale goes to the party that night to investigate but is attacked and injured by Ghostface who then leaves after Dewey arrives, and takes Gale to the hospital. Shortly afterwards at Jill's house, policemen Anthony Perkins (Anthony Anderson) and Ross Hoss (Adam Brody) are killed with Hoss being stabbed in the back, and Perkins being stabbed in the head. Sidney discovers that Jill has left and gone to Kirby's house, and goes down to tell Kate, but the two are chased by the killer. Kate is also killed by being stabbed in the back. After Deputy Judy Hicks (Marley Shelton) and other policemen appear to clean up the bodies, Sidney rushes to Kirby's house to save Jill.

At the house, Jill, Kirby, Charlie, Robbie and Trevor are watching some scary movies when Ghostface appears and kills a drunk Robbie who is outside. After, Kirby is forced to answer horror movie trivia to spare the life of Charlie who is tied up outside, while Sidney goes upstairs to find Jill. After the questions, Kirby goes outside to untie Charlie, and he reveals himself as the killer and stabs Kirby repeatedly in the stomach, killing her. Sidney is then attacked by Charlie, and his accomplice is revealed to be Jill. She explains that Sidney always got attention, and that the two want to gain fame by being the survivors of the murders and framing Trevor for it. But then Jill kills Charlie and explains that she will get more attention if she is a sole survivor. She then pulls out Trevor from the closet and shoots him in the head. Then she stabs Sidney, supposedly killing her. Jill then hurts herself to make it look like she was attacked by Trevor.

Afterwards, Jill is taken to the hospital and discovers that Sidney is still alive. She goes to Sidney's room and attacks her, but with the help of Dewey, Gale, and Judy, Sidney shoots Jill in the chest, killing her.

Plot

Jane Brighton (Alana Austin) is a high school math whiz obsessed with J.D. McQueen, a teen music sensation whose parents have sent him back to public high school to improve his declining grades. J.D. risks missing a critical summer tour that could ruin his musical career. To get help with math, he builds a relationship with Jane.

Similarities between the film and real life 

Popstar borrows heavily from Carter's real life. Both Carter and J.D. were born on December 7, and both had been taken out of public schools because of their careers. J.D. and Carter both have divorced parents. Both get nervous before concerts. J.D. sings "Saturday Night", a song that Carter was in fact promoting in his summer 2005 tour before the film was released. Fans will recognize many of Carter's publicity/magazine photos that decorate Brighton's bedroom.

Plot 

Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale) performs a dance number at the Lava Springs Country Club. There she meets a famous producer Jerry Taylor (Pat Mastroianni) who offers her dog Boi a chance to star in his newest show on Broadway. Sharpay later convinces her father to let her move to New York City on her own. He hesitantly accepts, but he has a condition: if the plan backfires, Sharpay is forced to move back with her parents and work at Lava Springs. While in New York, Sharpay is kicked out of her penthouse because they don't allow dogs. While in despair, she meets Peyton (Austin Butler) who offers her a studio apartment. Sharpay accepts but is disgusted to find out what it is. Sharpay, Peyton, and Boi go shopping to give her studio a little makeover.

While Peyton sees Sharpay in distress, he brings her to the stage of the Radio City Music Hall which makes her feel much better. There she meets Neal Roberts and Gill Samms, producers of Jerry's show. When she finds out they only want Boi, she auditions him but only to be caught in a tie with very competitive Roger Elliston (Bradley Steven Perry. Minutes later, Sharpay meets Amber Lee Adams, the star of the show. Leaving the theater, Sharpay is threatened by Roger that if she doesn't drop out, there will be serious consequences.

Later in the film, Boi and Countess (Roger's female pup) run away together. Sharpay and Roger team up to find them. Fortunately, Peyton finds them digging through a trash can.

Meanwhile, Amber Lee fires her assistant and dimwittingly hires Sharpay just to boss her around. Unknowingly, Sharpay is a maid to her and answers to her every need. Sharpay later finds out that Amber Lee isn't all who she cracks up to be. So she and Roger concoct a plan to get her fired from the show. Her plan works, only to get Sharpay fired and Amber Lee quitting from the production. Just as it seems that the production is about to get cancelled due to Amber Lee quitting, Peyton shows footage to the producers that she can be the girl to star in the show. They take his word and hire Sharpay as the lead role in "A Girl's Best Friend".

Sharpay accepts the offer only if Boi and Countess split the role of Shelby. Sharpay and Peyton share a kiss and she finally gets her dream of performing on Broadway. As the credits begin to roll, Sharpay receives a visit from her brother, Ryan, who is currently on break from a tour his musical is doing. Boi ends up scurrying out of the room, with Sharpay following afterwards. Ryan lies back on Sharpay's bed, unfortunately it lifts up and closes on him.
